    Description

    You're bidding on an antique photograph - "In The Flume" - print is 6 1/2" X 8 1/2", matting with signature and title is 12" X15". Signed "Brown", with another notation of "E B Brown" on the back, as well as a label from "The Brown Studio - Winthrop, Mass." on the back. I've found zero about this artist or the studio specifically, but it's probably connected to E.B. Brown Dry Goods, for which I found a reference in the Winthrop 1911 town report. So my best guess is this photo is probably circa 1910, or thereabouts.
    Appears to be an original gelatin silver photographic print, with a bit of clouding along the edges. Looks to be a photo of the famous Flume rapids in New Hampshire's White Mountain region. Nice image of a fairly wild-looking cascading rapid along a cliff wall. Note that the back matting has some staining and some residual glue from old window matting - that said, it's clean and appealing enough around the image that it could be creatively matted into a nice presentation with the back label info preserved.
